Q: “Please tell us about your education.”
A: “I was born into a family of business people. My parents nearly always talked business, which triggered my interest in economics; that's why I studied economics in France.”
Q: “What did growing up in that context teach you?”
A: “[My parents] were really a nice team. That explains the success of their business. It’s very important for United—it’s very important to be a team.”
Q: “What happened after that?”
A: “I joined a firm. That firm became KPMG. [I was] in charge of a small team of accountants and tax advisors, mainly handling small- and medium-sized business. After eight years, I left for a major KPMG client, a bank. I became head of accounting, did that for eight years…then I became head of the investment-fund business at that bank.”
Q: “Why did you join United?”
A: “To be flexible. To get things done. To spend time with the client.”
